Its Saturday and I'm bored so I thought I would break you guys off with some fresh architecture and fashion.

New York is going to be getting yet another groundbreaking, beautiful building added to their skyline. This building (white with a diagonal shape), by the architectural group OMA, is slated to be finished in 2010 costing around $200 million dollars. This is OMA's first residential tower in NY. This beautiful building will be located at 23 East 22nd Street. OMA has a number of these tall, diagonally shaped buildings planned for the future so keep your eyes open.

Artist of the Week: Yeasayer

Yeasayer is a great indie electronic outfit out of Brooklyn, New York. Yeasayer blend electronic, middle eastern, funk and psychedelic to create an extremely unique, brilliant sound. I first discovered them at the AT&T stage at Lollapalooza this year. Chris Keating, the bands lead singer, moved around the stage with dramatic movements which followed the melody and beat of the songs blasting through the giant speakers. After Lolla, I found myself looking at their other live performances on Youtube and really discovering that Yeasayer are one of the great up and coming bands in music. Their singles "Sunrise" and "2080" off their cd All our Cymbals, have been gaining major attention from the music community. Yeasayer have a great sound, if you don't believe me watch the videos!!!

2080 Live:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhW8dH7txeU

Sunrise Live:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okxAi06PTAU

Wait for the Summer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sObIAcv0KtE&feature=related

New: Artist of the Week

In the Next few days I will start to do an Artist of the Week. I've been in the Chi since thursday for Lollapalooza!!! What a year it was. Thursday I did a behind the scenes tour and got to see the prep for the fest as well as the video trucks and talk to the people that put all of it together, it was sickkkk. They said they are already in the process of finding out the next headliners for the 09 show, possiblities include: Jay-Z, Coldplay and possibly reunions of bands as well as other big name legends like the Police.

Friday me and my friends waited all day at the main stage to get front row for Radiohead. We Saw the electronic indie band, Yaysayer and the insane gypsy rock group Gogol Bordello. Yaysayer was a great show, they are talented lads that are sure to turn out some hits in the future (look out for some posts in the coming weeks). Gogol Bordello was surprisingly a fun show to be at. I wouldn't buy their cd but it was a crazy, intense show, check out some of their live videos and you will see what i mean. Radiohead blew me away. I don't know if it was the amazing light show they had, their deep library of songs to play, or thom yorke and Jonny Greenwood being brilliant. All I know is it was an amazing show. Thom Yorke's voie is one of my favorites its haunting yet it is soo richhh. They ripped through their set of sogns from the past as well as the present.

Day 2 was also a day for getting great seats for the headliner Rage Against the Machine. We suffered through some pretty bad bands but when Lupe Fiasco hit the stage it was a relief. Of the four times I have seen him, Lolla 08 was Lupe at his finest. His band and singers that backed him were very talented and Lupe remains one of the best live hip-hop shows in history. After Lupe ended, Shit hit the fan. People started pushing and passing out in anticipation for Rage. When they started playing all hell broke loose. Basically, a riot broke out and I only lasted for 2 songs. There were people bleeding and passed out all over the place and I was in the middle of 3 jacked guys sooo I had to call it quits before I died. Rage had to stop playing for about 5 minutes because they even saw people were getting seriously injured. That was the first time Rage had to stop playing in 10 years. That shows how insane it really was.

Day 3 we raced into Grant Park to secure the best seats in the house for Mr. Kanye West. Kid Sister performed first and that girl has some talent. She was backed by Chicago electronic outfit Flosstradamus. Without them the show would've suffered greatly. After 2 other groups Gnarls Barkley hit the stage. They were brilliant and once again Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse put on an amazing show. Cee-Lo's voice will blow anyones mind. They also covered Radiohead's Reckoner. After Gnarls came Mr. West. He brought his 12 piece band with him. His band was fitted with over 15 drums including a drum kit, a guitarist, bassist, 3 keyboards and a synth. Once he hit the stage, Kanye didn't stop. He performs with such passion and intensity. He did a cover of "Put on for my city" which lasted for about 10 minutes because of two speeches, one about the late Donda West and one about always progressing and never being satisfied. He blazed through the rest of his set to conclude with Stronger. This song paired with the lights, reorchestration of instruments and many other variables made it one of the best concert moments I have ever had. It really ended the weekend on a high note.

I suggest you buy tickets next year, I'm thinking Perry Ferrell isn't going to stop putting together an amazing lineup and fest.

The new Rat Pack?

So, I was watching the video for Fonzworth Bentleys song "Everybody" and after the video had ended it hit me that Kanye, andre 3000, and Bentley could be the new Rat Pack of the 21st century. I'm not big on the song but the style and the creativity of the video impressed me. Granted, the original Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.) can never be topped, but Kanye, Andre, and Fonzworth definetly have the style and swagger to become the Rat Pack of our century.

Check out the video:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=N6oMAHl9PNU

Frank Gehry

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Spain.

Frank Gehry, a famous architect out of L.A., has been a force in postmodern architecture for decades. His style, although Gehry claims no allegiance to any architectural movement, has been thought to be of the deconstructivism movement. These characteristics are brought out by ideas of fragmentation, which stray away from the typical rectangular and square elements of architecture that are usually observed.

Disney Concert Hall Los Angeles

AMAZING!!!!

A set by French house artist/producer Etienne de Crecy. Using this blog as a platform, I will create a new meaning to the phrase multiple personalities. This platform will serve as an outlet for my interests: music, fashion, architecture as well as countless others. Everyone has different interests and with each persons interests comes a new, unique personality, one that is created by the desire to learn and become immersed in that interest. This blog will enable me to show readers the numerous personalities I possess, which in turn can act as a catalyst to spreading new interests and ideas to readers, all resulting in the formation of new personalities. Enjoy!!!
